Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and TheDruidMan, who runs BracketSim ("we", "us"). They cover the BracketSim website at bracketsim.gg and everything it offers (the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

What BracketSim is

BracketSim simulates World of Warcraft characters at Legacy brackets (levels 30 to 80) and suggests gear, talents, gems, enchants and consumables for them. Simulations run on our servers using a modified version of SimulationCraft, the open-source simulator.

Results are estimates from a model of the game. They depend on that model, on the settings you choose and on the data available for older content, and they can be wrong. Use them as guidance, not as a promise of what will happen in game.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use the Service.

Free to use

Everything BracketSim offers is free. You can support its running costs through the optional link at the bottom of every page; supporting it never unlocks or changes any feature.

Using the Service fairly

• Use BracketSim for your own play, and share your results as you like.
• Do not use it to break the rules of any game or service, including Blizzard's.
• Do not send automated requests, scrape the site, or try to get around queue or size limits. Simulations cost real computing time, and limits keep the Service fair for everyone.
• Do not try to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its servers.
• Do not submit anything unlawful or anything you do not have the right to submit.

We may limit, suspend or refuse access to anyone who breaks these rules or puts the Service at risk.

Your data and your reports

You keep any rights you have in what you submit, such as a SimulationCraft export. You allow us to process it to run the simulations you ask for and to show you the results. How we handle your information, and for how long, is set out in the Privacy Policy. Reports are kept only in your own browser, so clearing this site's data deletes them - keep your own copy of anything you want to keep.

When you share a report, anyone with its share link can view it for 30 days. Only share reports for your own characters or characters whose owners are happy for you to share them. Shared reports contain game data only: comments and anything typed as free text are removed, and reports from Advanced mode cannot be shared. If you see a shared link that should not exist, email it to us and we will remove it.

Availability

We aim to keep BracketSim running, but we do not promise it will always be available, error-free or fast. We may change, pause or stop any part of it at any time.

Other people's software, data and trademarks

• BracketSim's simulation engine is a modified version of SimulationCraft, licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 3. See Source & Licences.
• Game data, character data from the Armory import and game art come from Blizzard Entertainment. Item and spell tooltips are provided by Wowhead. Those services have their own terms.
• World of Warcraft, Warcraft and Blizzard Entertainment are trademarks or registered trademarks of Blizzard Entertainment, Inc. in the U.S. and/or other countries.
• BracketSim is an independent fan project. It is not made, endorsed, sponsored or supported by Blizzard Entertainment, the SimulationCraft project, Wowhead or any other simulation website.

The BracketSim name, logo, site design and written content are ours. The engine's source code is available under its own licence as described above.

Our responsibility to you

The Service is provided free of charge and "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss caused by using it or relying on its results, including in-game losses such as gold, items or time. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the laws of England and Wales, and nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BracketSim changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and important changes are listed on Site Updates. If you keep using the Service after a change, the new terms apply.

Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also rely on the consumer protections of the country you live in and bring a claim there.
